More than 40 young women lined up at the Siren Bar in Gungahlin on Wednesday night for the 2014 Westfield Face of Canberra Racing model search. Including Monica Shanahan who made it to the Heat 2 Finals, at the Siren Bar. "I put in my submission as a fluke, and was pleased when they contacted me. It was a great experience, for my confidence and to do something fun and completely out of the box." Monica Shanahan Each year prior to the running of the Seppelt Black Opal Stakes, the call for entrants to local ladies between the ages of 18-35 to take part in the judging process to find the right "face". From the forty-six entrants, organisers say they are looking for "someone with immaculate presentation, someone who is fashion savvy and willing to become Canberra Racing’s ambassador".
