Canberra vision of a Very Fast Train was in the making... but didn't make the final cut.
In the 1970's - 80's my father Vlad Mosmondor, Graphic Designer was working with a team for five years compiling research and gathering information that was needed for Canberra's first light rail system. He designed the imagery, style guide, logo and overall branding of the VFT.
If this project was to take off, it would bring visitors and tourists into canberra, and at the same time expanding interstate travel from state to state.
A timetable was devised and it would like no longer than one hour travel time from Canberra to Sydney. You would be able to see a friend, have a coffee by the Sydney Opera House, and at the end of the day be able to travel back to the nation's capital.
This was a vision that was held by everyone on board the project. Unfortunately the government at the time in Canberra didn't accept this proposal.
Below are some of the imagery, and branding Vlad Mosmondor designed for the project. Aligned with those samples is the current light rail the Nation's Capital has now, which travels to the city to Gungahlin, commuting everyday.
